Mere days before their elopement in the Texas woods, I saw a post in a Facebook group asking if any photographers were available for October 24. Jenn and Chris were on the verge of postponing their wedding for a third time, and decided they couldn’t wait any longer to be married! I don’t blame them. They are still planning on having a big celebration next year in Austin, but for now they had an intimate wedding on Jenn’s family land in Kilgore, Texas.
The day was full of emotion – which I’ve found to be the case with everyone who gets married this year. At every 2020 wedding, my couples are emotional because this wasn’t their original plan, not everyone they want there can be there, and not to mention — 2020 hasn’t been kind to any of us!
Jenn was FaceTiming with her friend who was supposed to be her maid of honor while I was photographing the dress outside. There is a snapshot of Jenn showing her friend the dress hanging outside that I just love! Jenn wasn’t anticipating the tears the came, and had to resort to a small clutch as her fan to dry away her sudden tears.
I will never forget the moment Jenn was about to walk down the aisle, when she realized she didn’t have her bouquet. Her brother BOLTED back up to the house to get it, and the ceremony eventually resumed. The series of photos of that moment will forever be some of my favorites.
And we cannot forget about their sweet pup RILEY. If you can’t tell, I was drawn to her sweet eyes the whole day. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of her at every turn. I mean, WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT THAT SWEET BABY?!
I don’t want to bore you with more of my inadequate words, so enjoy Chris and Jenn’s day as it unfolds below.
